LATEST UPDATE:- FG Tracing 35 Persons In FCT Over Lassa Fever

The federal government has commenced the tracing of the whereabouts of about 35 persons that were believed to have come in contact with a late patient that died as a result of Lassa fever.File photo of minister of health, Professor Isaac AdewoleThe identity of patient that died at the National Hospital, Abuja, on Wednesday, January 13, has not been disclosed by the government.However, with this latest death brings the total number of deaths so far to 43 from 10 states.According to the coordinator of Nigeria Centre for Disease, Professor Abudulsalam Nasidi, confirmed the tracing and also noted that 15 persons have been placed under surveillance.
Ministry To Breed CatsThe victim was said to have been rushed to the National Hospital after eight days in a private hospital in Kubwa, a satellite town inFCT.The medical director of the hospital Dr. Jack Momoh said: “The patient was brought in unconscious from a Private Hospital in Kubwa where he was admitted for 8 days. 
The 33 year old newly married lived in Jos Plateau but came to see a family member in Kubua because of his illness. He however died within 24hours of presentation at the National Hospital.”In a related development,the Benue state government had directed people in the stateto desist from eating rats for the meantime.This directive was given by Governor Samuel Ortom at Aso Villa shortly after meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.The governor explained that the step becomes necessary as the state had recorded a case of the virus
