Revenge For Xenophobia? Boko Haram Already En Route To South Africa – Intelligence
The UK’s news source reports that based on the obtained
intelligence report Boko Haram is currently in Zimbabwe, heading
to South Africa.
ZimEye provided with reference to the Central Intelligence
Organisation (CIO) report that the South Africans had alerted
their colleagues in Zimbabwe that the insurgents were in
Matebeleland region (Bulawayo) en route to SA.
The Zimbabwean security were said to have been put on standby in
the course of such development. South Africa’s intelligent service
alleged that Boko Haram would take revenge for the xenophobic
attacks, which also affected Nigerians.
Africa, Xenophobia Would Not Have Arisen
Officers were reportedly mobilized at around 9pm on April 25 and
stationed in the area of purported camps and along the streets.
Earlier this month, after South Africa had been seized by anti-
immigrant moods, the dreaded sect reportedly issued a 24-hour
ultimatum to Pretoria threatening to extend the terror
activities unless the violence stops.
The authenticity of the released video, so as of the recent
intelligence report, could not be ascertained.
Still, the news generated a lot of reactions online. One of the
Nairaland users said that Boko Haram was not longer “a Nigerian
thing”, but “an African thing”. The others called it “irony” that
those guilty of mass murders of Nigerians were ready to
“protect” them from South African xenophobes.
